Southbound lanes of Auckland's Southern Motorway near the Ellerslie and Penrose interchange were closed for about 30 minutes this afternoon after the Penrose overbridge was struck by a large motorhome.
The incident happened about 4.30pm.
Debris was been scattered across the motorway and the motorhome left the scene before police arrived. Police are now trying to locate it.
Police received multiple calls from the public about the motorway incident.
Engineers were sent to the scene to assess any damage to the overbridge.
