Two people have been taken to hospital with serious injuries after the motorcycle they were riding collided with a car west of Nelson today.
The Summit Rescue helicopter flew a 52-year-old Nelson man to Nelson Hospital about 2.30pm after the crash on the corner of Neudorf Rd and Moutere Highway, near Upper Moutere, a helicopter spokesman said.
The man and a woman riding pillion were both throw several metres from the bike and suffered injuries to the chest, abdomen and leg, he said.
The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Police, the fire service and St John also attended the crash.
