A motorcyclist who hit a parked car on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula early today is now in a stable condition in Auckland City Hospital's intensive care unit.
Police were alerted to the crash on Whangaparaoa Rd at 4am.
A St John Ambulance spokesman said the motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, was trapped underneath the car.
"Two ambulances were sent and he was airlifted to Auckland City Hospital in a critical condition."
An Auckland District Health Board spokeswoman said the man was still in the intensive care unit at 9.30am today but was now in a stable condition.
