A motorcyclist had a lucky escape after crashing off his bike and skidding beneath a truck in Tairua.
The motorcyclist came off his bike on Saturday about 1:15pm and slid beneath an oncoming truck, Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust said.
The motorcyclist came off at a moderate speed but wasn't struck by the truck or run over, ARHT said.
He was air-lifted to Auckland Hospital in a serious condition. He is now in a stable condition at the hospital.
