Motorcyclist killed near Waiouru

A 24-year-old man died in the Karioi Forest near Waiouru after two motorbikes collided at an organised motorbike event about 9.30am yesterday.

Police said the second motorcyclist, who was assisting with the event, was flown to Palmerston North Hospital in the Square Trust rescue helicopter. He was reported to have serious leg and arm injuries.
