A motorcyclist who died after his bike collided with a car near Cromwell last night has been named by police as Paul Kidd, a 46-year-old from Karamea, on the West Coast of the South Island.
Mr Kidd suffered critical injuries in the collision at Cairnmuir Rd, Bannockburn, about 6.15pm.
He was flown to Dunedin Hospital by helicopter but died en route.
The driver of the car, who was the sole occupant in the vehicle, was uninjured.
