A motorcyclist who died near Rangiora in Canterbury on Friday night has been named as Shane Mark Boyd, 32, of West Eyreton.
Police inquiries into the crash were continuing, but initial inquiries indicated he failed to take a corner and hit a group of letterboxes.
No other vehicle was involved.
