A motorcyclist is dead after a collision with a car near Auckland today.
Police say diversions are in place on State Highway 16, near Woodhill Road, Waimauku.
The crash happened at 4.30pm and the motorcyclist was reported to have died at the scene. The occupant of the car received minor injuries.
Traffic was expected to be heavy into the rush hour and motorists were advised to consider their options when planning travelling around Helensville, police said.
All motorists were asked to take extra care while on the diversion roads as traffic will be heavy.
