A 59-year-old motorcyclist has died after a car hit him in a central Christchurch street yesterday.
John McDonald, from Dallington in Christchurch, died in hospital last night from his injuries, after being hit while riding on Gloucester Street.
Mr McDonald was riding in a cycle lane, when the driver of a black Nissan Pulsar turned into a side street, hitting him side-on, Detective Constable Matt Reynolds said.
Mr Reynolds appealed for anyone who saw the crash to contact him at the Christchurch police station.
