A motorcyclist has died in a road crash in Christchurch this afternoon.
The accident involved a Mercedes car and a motorcycle at the intersection of Pound Rd and Ryans Rd just before 1pm. The motorcyclist died as a result of injuries.
Road closures are in place in the immediate area.
The driver of a commercial truck that passed through the intersection a short time before the crash was being urged to call police, as well as anyone who witnessed the incident.
Police are contacting the person's next of kin.
