A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with critical injuries after colliding with a car north of Auckland.
Police are expected to issue a press release about the incident in the next half hour. It is understood the person on the motorbike suffered severe injuries and CPR had to be performed for about five minutes.
It was unclear if the rider was a man or woman.
The collision happened at Wellsford and the rider is en route to Auckland City Hospital. The incident will be investigated by police.
