A motorcyclist was airlifted to Nelson Hospital in a serious condition following a crash on the Whangamoa Saddle near Nelson today.
The accident happened about 3.30pm near the summit of the Whangamoas when the
56 year-old male rider collided with a bank.
An investigation into the cause of the accident is under way, but police said speed appeared to be a factor.
