A motorcyclist has been found dead north of Wellington.
The body of the 58-year-old Kapiti Coast man was found on Paekakariki Hill Rd by a roading contractor about 3.30pm, Inspector Mike Coleman of the central police communications centre said.
It was thought he had died recently, Mr Coleman said.
His next of kin had been notified.
The road remained closed while the police serious crash unit examined the scene.
