A man died after his motorcycle hit a power pole in Paraparaumu on the Kapiti Coast this morning.
Police said the 40-year-old local man was the only motorist involved in the crash.
It appeared the motorcycle left the road and hit a power pole, throwing the man into a fence.
He was airlifted to Wellington Hospital with critical injuries and died this afternoon with his family by his side.
