A 24-year-old motorcyclist who was injured in a crash in North Otago yesterday afternoon has died in hospital.
Christchurch man Cameron Alexander Blaze Johnson, known as Blaze, suffered serious injuries when he crashed near Bushey, north of Palmerston and was flown to Dunedin Hospital by helicopter, police said.
The crash occurred just before 3pm when the driver of a northbound Toyota Corona did a U-turn and collided with Mr Johnson's motorbike, which was also travelling north.
The 52-year-old driver of the Toyota Corona was taken to Dunedin Hospital with minor injuries and a passenger with him was uninjured.
The crash was attended by police, St John Ambulance and the Fire Service.
