Motorcyclist dies in Central Otago crash

A motorcyclist has died in a crash involving a truck.

Police are at the scene of the crash, near the intersection of Springvale Rd and State Highway 85 in Central Otago.

Emergency services received a report about the crash about 5.30pm, police say.

The motorcyclist died at the scene. The truck driver is uninjured but shaken, police say.

The Serious Crash Unit is investigating and SH85 is closed in the area.

Motorists should expect delays and have been advised to avoid the area if possible.
