A 49-year-old motorcyclist has died in Waikato Hospital from injuries sustained in a collision with a car on Monday.
He is the third person to die on Waikato roads this week after the deaths of two elderly Huntly women on Tuesday.
The motorcyclist sustained critical injuries in an incident on State Highway One at Te Rapa.
Waikato district road policing manager Inspector Leo Tooman said he was unable to release the dead mant's name because the formal identification process was being completed.
The crash was still under investigation and he was unable to comment on specifics but he said the Waikato road toll was already 38 this year - compared to 34 at the same point in 2010.
