Motorcyclist dies after hitting tree in Hamilton

A man is dead after the motorbike he was riding collided with a tree in Hamilton today.

The man was riding a late model Ducati on Firth St in Hamilton East when he collided with the tree.

Police are still conducting inquiries and the man's family has arrived at the scene. It is unclear whether alcohol played a part in the crash.
