Motorboat crashes into yacht, runs aground a Devonport

A 10.6m launch crashed into a moored yacht near Devonport last night before running aground.

A police spokeswoman said the the Genesis launch grounded shorly before midnight.

She said no one was on the yacht.

The Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter searched for people who may have been in the water after the launch began taking on water and discovered the damaged yacht.

No injuries were reported.
