A West Auckland man was stabbed in the neck while investigating someone apparently interfering with his motorcycle early today.
The victim was taken to Auckland Hospital for treatment to his injuries, which were not considered serious.
Police said that the victim went out of his Te Atatu home about 3am after hearing a noise and found a man apparently interfering with his motorcycle.
He challenged the man, who stabbed in the neck and fled the scene.
The offender was described as a male Maori, aged in his 30s, of stocky build, with facial stubble. He was about 1.67m tall.
