Vehicle crashes have closed the Manawatu Gorge for the second time today, with police diverting traffic away from State Highway 3 at the gorge's Woodville end.
Police were notified of the second two-car collision to happen on the stretch of road today about 4.15pm.
All occupants of the vehicles had got out, and ambulances and tow trucks were at the "serious" crash site, a police spokesman said.
An earlier crash blocked the gorge from about 6am, after one car crossed the centre line and ploughed into an oncoming vehicle. A woman driver was taken to Palmerston North Hospital with moderate injuries.
