Mother twice limit

Mt Maunganui police say a 21-year-old mother was caught driving at almost twice the legal breath alcohol limit with her children, aged 2 and 3, in the car on New Year's Day.

And an Auckland truck driver faces several driving charges after careering through a checkpoint on Maunganui Rd. He was found to be more than twice the legal alcohol limit.

In a third incident, a man pulled in behind a booze bus, telling officers he was drunk and looking for his girlfriend. He was well over the limit.
