The mother of baby twins is counting her blessings that she wasn't walking with them when she was run down on a pedestrian crossing by a hit-and-run driver.
The 38-year old mother of two-month-old twins was crossing the intersection of Edgeware Rd and Sherborne St about 7.45pm on Sunday when she was struck.
Police believe the car involved in the incident, a silver/grey four-door, older-style saloon, was travelling east on Edgeware Rd and turned right into Sherborne St while the woman was crossing.
The car is reported to have slowed but then carried on after the impact, leaving her lying on the road.
Members of the public who went to assist the woman provided first aid and called an ambulance.
