The west Auckland mother jailed for torturing her nine year old daughter is appealing the sentence.
The 31-year old was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison.
Her lawyer Lorraine Smith is appealing the minimum non-parole period of five years.
At the time of sentencing Judge Gibson described the case as a very sad and long litany of abuse, which amounts to nothing less than torture.
