A 21-year-old woman charged in connection with the burial of her newborn son's body at a Wellington house has been further remanded to November 5.
The woman from Churton Park, who has interim name suppression, was excused from appearing at Wellington District Court this morning after her lawyer presented a psychiatrist's letter to Judge Denys Barry.
A 21-year-old male engineer, who is also charged with disposal of the child's body, did not appear.
The man had been bailed to a Johnsonville address with conditions not to associate with the woman or contact any prosecution witnesses.
The newborn's body was buried behind a Churton Park house earlier this month and found after neighbours called police.
