Mother charged with hiding baby's body

The mother of a baby boy found dead in Hastings seven months ago has been identified and charged with concealing his body.

The 24-year-old woman, who has not yet been named, was located through DNA samples.

The body of her stillborn son, whom police named Moses, was found in long grass at the back of a Hastings church in January.

The woman is due to appear in the Hastings District Court tomorrow.

The body of another baby, nicknamed Aaron, was also found in Hastings around the same time. A 15-year-old was identified as the mother, but was not charged.
