Mother charged over death of baby

A mother has been charged with being an accessory to murder over the death of her child in Putaruru earlier this year.

Jaymie Haddock, 18, appeared in Hamilton District Court yesterday over the death of Sarah Haddock-Woodcock, 3-1/2 months.

Haddock has already been charged with wilfully neglecting the baby in a manner to cause injury to health.

Detective Rick Rudolph, of Tokoroa police, said at this stage no-one had been charged with the baby's murder and the investigation was ongoing.

"We are continuing to speak with several key people in this investigation and the inquiry is progressing," he said.
