The mother of an autistic boy who was allegedly murdered at his Christchurch home has given birth.
Emma Le Fleming Roberts gave birth to a baby girl, Poppy Paige Leona Roberts, on Wednesday, stuff.co.nz reported.
Her son, five-year-old Leon Michael leFleming Jayet-Cole, died in hospital in June after suffering a serious head injury on May 27.
Leon's stepfather James Stedman Roberts, 34, has been charged with his murder and has pleaded not guilty. He is also facing accusations of benefit fraud.
Ms Roberts has been charged with failing in her legal duty as a carer to get him medical treatment.
