Police have charged a 22-year-old mother in relation to an alleged child abandonment incident this morning.
Acting Detective Sergeant Paul Van Der Zee, of the Hamilton CIB, said the woman had been charged with two counts of abandoning a child under six.
The charges relate to an incident early this morning when two boys, aged two and 11 months, were found home alone by police.
Both children were referred to Child Youth and Family to ensure their immediate health and safety.
