KEY POINTS:
A 41-year-old woman appeared in Wellington District Court today accused of attacking her 10-year-old daughter with a knife.
It is alleged that the woman, who was granted interim name suppression, had attacked her daughter on Sunday, holding a knife to the girl's neck, cutting her, and threatening to kill her.
A forensic psychiatric nurse told the court the woman had acknowledged she needed help dealing with several issues and had been referred to the Crisis Assessment Treatment team.
Judge Eddie Paul remanded the defendant on bail under the condition she live with her parents, did not contact her daughter or son, did not enter her home address, and did not consume alcohol or non-prescription drugs.
She was to reappear in court on March 5.
