Home-track advantage came to the fore as Rebecca Treacy and daughter Jessica Graham grabbed handicap honours over 6km and 4km respectively when the Ruamahanga Ramblers held races on Saturday. Tracey had just under a minute to spare from Della Laird, while Graham had a 45-second break on Mathew Furkert.
The 2km handicap spoils went to Samantha Duthie, who held out Jack Britland by 21s, while fastest time there was set by Tom Parker with 8min 2s. It was the scenery that won out in the 6km walk, with all participants completing the course in the same time.
