Team New Zealand may have failed to bring the America's Cup home but a Herald-DigiPoll survey suggests the public have not lost faith in the sailors.
The Government contributed $33.75 million towards Team NZ's challenge and has already volunteered interim funding of $10 million towards another one.
Of 788 respondents, 56.8 per cent supported more taxpayer funds being given to Team NZ, and 32.3 per cent were against.
Sport and Recreation Minister Trevor Mallard said the team gave this country brilliant exposure in Europe.
