Interest is bubbling over actor Temuera Morrison's $2.4 million Rotorua home after the Hollywood star put it up for sale.
The lakeside property, sporting a cabana, bar and swimming pool surrounded by tropical plants, has drawn keen interest from both locals and people from out of town, real estate agentTim O'Sullivan says.
"I've had a lot of calls. We've had a few people view the property, and I'm positive," he said.
Because the original owner built the property with the intention to run it as a fishing lodge, the more than 8000sq m of land area offers the buyer the opportunity to "stamp their mark on it", Mr O'Sullivan said.
"There's still parts of the property that can be developed - somebody who wants to buy it could turn it into a lodge or bed and breakfast - there's huge potential with it."
Morrison, who was born in Rotorua, bought the property in 2004. Widely known for his roles on Once Were Warriors, Crooked Earth and several Star Wars movies, he is reportedly selling the luxury home to regain the "couple of million" it had cost him.
Mr O'Sullivan said Morrison seemed happy to let go of his property of four years.
"He's been able to enjoy it for this long and it's time to sell."
