Police are seeking witnesses after a pedestrian was hit by a car and died just after he got off a bus south of Auckland yesterday.
The 53-year-old pedestrian, who has not yet been named by police, was on his way to work, had just got off the bus and was trying to cross the road when he was hit by the car in Karaka, southwest of Papakura, about 7.50am.
Constable Bayley Orr told NZPA police had already had a positive response from the public, but they were still looking for more witnesses.
Not long after the pedestrian was hit, a 67-year-old man died at the scene of a three-vehicle crash in Glenbrook, west of Karaka, about 8.20am.
Police have not yet released his details.
