KEY POINTS:
Here is an earlier selection:
Proud Kiwi (Auckland)
Call me overly patriotic if you must, but I am sitting here thinking about how great our boys are doing and I am getting the same feeling as I do when I see the Haka being performed or hear the National Anthem being performed at a international event. I get a big lump in my throat, tears in my eyes and a warmth that comes from being a kiwi.Go to team NZ.
Cabra Kiwi
Awesome go for it.
Kirsten
Of course we can win. Never doubted that from the beginning. We have an excellent team and an outstanding boat. We have the ability and determination to win. Go boys. I have to laugh at Alinghi's attitude. Would they be complaining so much if they had won the last two races? I think not.
Kiwi (USA)
So the whining begins,if alingi had won today I am sure that Butterworth and his boss would have said what a fantastic race it was with lead changes and trying to out gues the wind shifts. Man, this is what racing is all about but no its everyone elses fault..NZ had to race in the same conditions and the spoils go to the better team on the day. Grow up boys, after all you guys picked the venue now live with it. Go you black beast.
WA, U.S.A., and Norman Wells, N.T. Canada
Just want the team to know that there's a Kiwi bloke up in the Canadian arctic who's been avidly following every step of their progress, and his wife down in Washington state has been forwarding everything extra she can find to keep him up to date...we are rooting for you! Way to Go; keep it up!! Your far-flung fans, Pat and Val Braddock .
Roger
What a race..... living in the UK where there is strong support for TNZ is fantastic. The most exciting racing you could wish for, two very even teams going at it.... very proud watching TNZ fighting back from almost certain defeat in race 2 and 3 is quiet frankly amazing will to win. NZ should be very proud of what this Team is doing... keep going boys.
NG
What a race. Amazing, astonishing and such brilliant teamwork. I was glued to the entire race. And how satisfying to see Ernesto and the boys throw the last remaining toys out of the carbon fibre cot. Although Alinghi seem to want this race to be purely on boat speed (why not, they paid enough for it), Dalton has shown the real metal all along this is as much a head game as anything else. Go hard guys, take it one step at a time and give 'em a taste. Kia Kaha.
Wikitoria
Nga mihi nui ki a koutou. Tumeke! Awesome ETNZ. Race three was a thriller...spectacular. Kia kaha
Phil
There is a lot of hyperbole in most reports of this race, so much so that many have missed the real significance. If this is an "old guard" of NZ yachting Vs the "young'uns" then ETNZ, the young'uns have just had their choke and gotten over it.Up until this race ETNZ had sailed an error free regatta, they won their first race against Butterworth, Fleury & Co in race 2 but it seems that even they were blown away by that because today at a time when they should have been under no pressure at all, they were so far in front, they royally screwed the pooch. They choked. But there is no shame in that, remember the 'old guard' had a couple of chokes when they first took on the then King of the Hill, Dennis Connor a decade or two back. The thing is these young fellas on ETNZ came back immediately, sailed their own race, holding their nerve all the way and proved their superior ability to themselves. There should be no more chokes from ETNZ. The same cannot be said for the other mob where self doubt will have set in big time.
Rossta from Welly
A thrilling race that in all likelihood is the turning point in this series. All the pressure is on Alinghi in Race 4, but Team New Zealand still needs our support. The Kiwis may be in the proverbial driver's seat, but remember, this is still a matchup of a small island nation v. a Swiss billionaire. Visit www.supportwaka.co.nz and show your support for the boys!
Christchurch fan
Awesome guys!
Keep up the focus and fantastic sailing.
Justin (Chicago)
good on yuz, youse jokers.
Dave C
Another excellent result last night. Hang in there guys, we know you can win this event - you are a great team.
Dan (Lake George, New York)
Go Team NZ - Win the Cup!
Claudia (London, UK)
Go you good thing! Watching the beautiful Black Boat from London and longing to back amongst my fellow red sock wearers! Keep it up and Kia Kaha Team NZ! You make us proud. You are the best of all our days!
kiwi from aus
Great going guys, you make me feel very proud to be a kiwi, although we dont see much of the event in aus. I make sure I keep track on your fantastic work. Keep it up and good luck, I wish you all the best. Denis.
Kiwi Al (Sydney)
It was so good to see you pulled that one back from the Swiss or should I say the Kiwi traitors Butterworth and co,I haven't heard how you did today but sure wish you the best of luck.Go get em I say, as you now know that jinx is off your back since he moved camp,so continue to believe in yourselves and show that great Kiwi pride that he strangely doesn't have ,yet I thought meant so much to us all. Yeh Keep up the good work guys,we're all so proud of you and know you can bring that Cup back to NZ.
Joseblues
What we witnessed this morning was a complete performance from a team that sailed the whole race and did not give up. Well done TNZ! Of all the campaigns that this country has been involved in that has to be the greatest race in the history of the Auld Mug. Live it up today Kiwis and be proud, tomorrow's another battle - Alinghi will come back strong. Go the 92!
Behr, Manurewa, Auckland
Oh my goodness, what a race, after going to bed before the delayed start I got up about 3.30 and turned the TV on to see the race was still on, from there on in I was hooked. That would have to rate up there with other great sporting events. The boys did well to keep their cool and prove they deserve to win the cup. I know that there is still work to do and I believe we can do it but please no more of what happened this morning. Kia Kaha boys go hard, one game at a time.
Northern Irish fan
My Kiwi partner has introduced me to the delights of the Americas cup. What a fantastic team! I'm a fan. Hope to read all about the celebrations when you win.
Shane (Australia)
Great stuff guys, all the best. I loved it when Alinghi tacked onto TNZ but we snuffed by pulling out a tighter angle and better speed. Oh, please win it for us and then let the Blacks win the World Cup. Win or lose I am very proud of you all,
Dougal (Tauranga)
Do your absolute guys. Bring that piece of silver back to Wellington were we can thrash it out in Cooks Straight with a new criteria of minimum 25knots for that extra bit of excitement!
Carolyn KiwiKate (England)
Oh my God! Oh my God! Oh my God! Searching around for news of race three I found it on: www.sail-world.com an hour after the race started. Reading the article was nerve-wracking and thrilling! Way to go ETNZ! We love you! So proud to be a Kiwi! You all make us so proud, and well done the crowds too.
Kelly (Wellington)
"Never say die". A true champion can come back from a defeat with the humility of the experience that makes them all the stronger, never give up Team NZ, believe in the dream, and it is possible, we are all behind you in the dream.
Noelz
Congratulations Team NZ! Stunning performance this morning! Keep up the great work. So worth while staying not getting any sleep :)
MDC (Auckland)
Yes, I think we have a very good chance of bringing home the Cup. It is said that Alinghi is the fastest boat, but the sheer brilliance of the Kiwi sailing know how should bring us through. In today's race I noticed an Alinghi crewman videoing every move our boys were making, while still sailing through choppy seas. They are desperate to learn our every move! Go Kiwi!
Kiwisinvegas (Las Vegas)
We (Kiwis) live in America, and stumbled upon the "America's Cup" on an msn website - there has been no news of the Cup here, so weren't aware it was on. We wish Team NZ all the best of the luck - show the rest of the world what we're made of! Go Team NZ!
Kiwi (Hawaii)
Loving your work guys - you have already made all of us kiwis in Hawaii proud.
Digger kiwi (Minnesota, USA)
Race 3 was the most unbelievably stressful Am Cup race I have seen in 20 years as a spectator. To be so far in front, get headed, then have the finish line come up so slowly. Man has to go to the doctor to check the blood pressure. Awesome result though, may the cup head back to NZ. It would be poetic justice for the ship jumpers!
Batman
Of course we can win, Alinghi have been playing themselves up for months now and so have the media. While this was taking place our humble team kept quiet and to themselves and have just gone out and sailed, and sailed they have, I think Alinghi are in shock, lets face it, they thought they were going to walk all over us, no way. Yeah it was shifty but being able to call the shifts in all conditions is what makes good sailors. Come on, we have come from behind twice now, why can't we win? Go Team New Zealand and Alinghi just bring it.
Bridget (Takapuna, Auckland)
Woohoo Team NZ, what a ride - oh my god I feel like I've just taken the longest emotional roller coaster ride ever. Race 3 was awesome to watch, you guys were amazing. Congratulations on your second win! I'm looking forward to Race 4 tonight! Go NZL92, bring that cup home! = )
Stuart Hotchkin, Consett, England
Starboard gybe, leeward, dial down, 10 15 degrees of shift? What? Not a clue about sailing, but hay, I don't care! I just want Team NZ to win as it'll be great for your beautiful country and people!
Chris
Awesome Team NZ!
Shirley (Vancouver, Canada)
Keep up the lead Team New Zealand. You guys are awesome!
Room19 (Weymouth Primary)
All of Room 19 at Weymouth Primary, Auckland wish you the best.

Annie (Tauranga)
Good Luck Team NZ. I sit up every night in my red socks and watch every time. All the best.
Suzanne a NZer in outback (NSW)
Nursing in outback Australia you don't get to see the America's Cup on TV so I look up the NZ Herald site and catch up with the news. "Go get em Kiwis". We're all behind you wanting you to win the cup and bring it back to New Zealand!
Maksdaddy
Have been a stern supporter for well over a decade now. Ever loyal as a kiwi patriot should be. Best of luck boys.

Judy (Arkansas, USA)
Team New Zealand, I know you can do it again! I am an ex-pat Kiwi, and grew up sailing with my father. You will hear me cheering for you loud and clear, from way over here! You are the best!
Bill (Laingholm)
Well done so far. From here it looks to me as though there are some huge plusses for us. Confidence must be well up with the demonstration yesterday of boat speed. Confidence must also be well up with the magnificent boat handling shown throughout both races. There may be some cracks opening up in the Alingi teamwork. Best of luck for race three
Wellington
I don't usually show much interest in this particular sport, this race is definitely seat-gripping and catching attention from foreign quarters. Go Team New Zealand!
Moss Burmester - NZ swimmer
All the best Team NZ, I know you will be giving it your all. Focus on the processes, not the outcome, stand tall and kick some butt!
