More heavy bursts of rain are expected across the country this week as summer is put on hold.
WeatherWatch.co.nz said we can expect more rain, humidity and cloud this week.
A slow-moving band of rain with sub-tropical connections is moving towards and over the country this week, and the North Island and north west of the South Island can expect to see the worst of the wet weather.
The North Island is forecast to see plenty of high humidity, cloud, drizzle and rain today, with "very wet" conditions continuing across the country on Wednesday and Thursday.
The low in the Tasman could take as long as this weekend to cross the country or fizzle out, WeatherWatch.co.nz said.
