A rule is a rule - you break it, you've gotta be penalised. In F1, a few years ago when the Honda cars were caught underweight, they've got banned from racing for 2 races. And I thought the America's cup is F1 of yachting. I certainly hope the referees appreciate the meaning of rules.
John (Wellington)
Cool race - sad protest (look daddy, he kicked sand in my eyes) take it like a man Dean ... go Alinghi!
Tim and Sasha Wood (France)
From in the middle of nowhere in the French countryside we too watch anxiously as our boys challenge for the cup. We are so proud to be kiwis and look forward to the day we will bring the cup home again. Go the Kiwis!
Mama Mia (Auckland)
Of course, all sour grapes from the foreign legionaires on the so-called 'Swiss' boat, with not one Swiss onboard. It was absolutely terrific to see 'Swiss-Kiwi' Brad Butterworth's sour face on TV showing that he was not worth a teaspoon of butter after all, when Team NZ 110 per cent deservedly crossed the finish line long before Alinghi. This victory was due to great seamanship only from Team NZ, for which Alinghi's Italian owner should have shown a bit of due respect, instead of his gross bitterness, which, incidentally, show there's little, if any, sportsman in him. It also shows that Alinghi doesn't have what it takes to be a winner, as opposed to the great Team NZ.

I and my wife Sarah have been burning the midnight oil right since the beginning of the Louis Vitton Cup. We have been going to the office with bags under our eyes, but with a lot of faith in your team, and hope in our heart that you will bring back the Auld Mug. My office is at the Viaduct, and I watch the Team NZ shed everyday at lunch time, and imagine how this place will rock when you come back.Good Luck!
John Riley
Ever since Perth I have been driving around LA with the licence plate KIWIMJK. All my prayers were answered. The Magic is back.

Good on you Dean Barker and Team New Zealand
From Copenhagen, Denmark congratulations to Dean Barker and Team New Zealand for their achievements so far. Its wonderful to watch Dean Barker as a come-back kid. Four years ago I lived in Auckland and wittnessed TNZs rather humiliating defeat. These days I am joyful on behalf of Dean and his crew for a most remarkable comeback. Team Zealand: Go all the way and bring that cup back to wonderful Auckland!
Jeremy (London)
Brilliant race!!! Without a doubt the hour and a half in which the race took place was the least productive for all cup fans in Europe! Amazing stuff.
Jake (Malaysia)
Pride, grit and heart can't be bought. We're all proud to be Kiwis because we're down-to-earth, hardworking and bloody ingenious. You guys and girls have made us proud - forget all the European pomp and money - they simply can't beat us!
Wairarapa
Great work Team New Zealand!I had faith in you, Dean, when your team-mates jumped ship (,scuse the pun...) in 2003. With quiet confidence and experience behind you, you are doing us proud - keep it up! Jo
Jax

The ANZAC spirit is alive with Team NZ Race three was definitely one of the great sporting moments of the 21st century but perhaps we will have to wait until the end of the regatta to put it in its true context.Go and hit Alinghi for another six
Takapuna
Arriving as a convict on the shores of New Utopia Zealand just a few short years ago the desire to immerse in all things under the long white cloud first came a Kiwi wife then came Sailing up until now a tack was something that you should not stand on and a mask was for fancy dress That all took on a new meaning after watching Team New Zealand race receiving the on going explanation of nautical terms and being emersed in the Sailing Culture
I am now a devout follower of all things New Zealand. Thanks to the people of New Zealand for welcoming my wife home keep up the great work Team New Zealand.
Butler Richards

Congratulations NZ!!You are great sailors!! Please keep on fighting, because Alinghi only trust in their speed and not in their sailing skill! In Spain people is turning to cheer TNZ. See you all in Auckland.
5cougarsthanx of At the bar
As good a race as it was, I'm not sure about the greatest. It is certainly up there, but what about when Australia 2 came from behind in the seventh race in 1983 to beat Dennis Connor's "Liberty" to finally wrest that cup from the 132 year grasp that the Americans had on it? That one always stood out for me, although, I guess being an Aussie, I might be a little biased in my opinion.Still, good luck to Team New Zealand in the rest of the series, I hope the result is 5-1. It will be great to come back to Auckland to watch the next Cup defence!
Di
I am a kiwi living in Melbourne OZ, and do not get any news about it,but have seen the 3 races on Foxtel.Go the might kiwi's,loving it...Had my fingers crossed for the second race, and now waiting for the 4th race.Very very proud to be a Kiwi....even if we dont win the cup.
Daver, Auckland, NZ
Great work ETNZ so far in the regatta. Good luck for the fourth race tonight. You can do it again lads! Bring the America's Cup back to NZ! :)
Janneke, Kaitaia
The Swiss should abide by the rules, no matter how much smoke they think they can blow.
For us, Emirates Team New Zealand will always be the better boat, the better crew and the better spirit!Go Kiwi's, bring it home!
James England
What happened with the instruction about the mainsail being taken down without a man being sent up the mast? The Sky pictures clearly showed an Alinghi crewman going to the top of the mast after the instruction had been given and that he then put his arm over the top of the mast, reaching for something and apparently making some adjustment (even if only minor).Whether or not Alinghi could have got the sail down without the assistance of a man up the mast, they surely did not prove this, which was the object of the exercise. The evidence suggests the contrary. If they could do what they were asked to do, why send anyone up at all?
siriusharry
Team NZ ....Please dont give up, we'll support you guys till the end.
Keith from Philadelphia, PA, USA
Go New Zealand. I want to see the next cup races in Auckland again in 2010.
wogi
May the gods favour us.
Moheka (Hamilton)
Not happy with all the ads, staying up this early in the morning, I find the ads are devaluing the viewership of the America's Cup. Go Emerites Team NZ, despite the commercial opportunism shown by TVNZ, I guess TVNZ would prefer NZers to watch their ads rather than ETNZ race.
Belinda (Kuwait)
Right on Team New Zealand! Have been following it online, and you guys are doing NZ proud!
Zahmad (Sydney)
We support you all the way from Sydney....go Kiwis!
Monty (Pokeno)

I would really love to watch but can't, so am letting you all know we Kiwis here are behind you all in every way. Love you all, Kiwis from Canada.
Tania (Auckland)

Absolutely Magic! reading online the progress last night was so exciting, Awesome boys (and girls) for the effort yesterday. You are making us all proud of being a kiwi. You are showing the world that kiwis are a tough bunch, full of grit and determination, your all a credit to your families and the country. We will continue to watch and cheer for you all and blow the wind in the sails at the right times and cause the choppy waters for Alinghi. Go hard, Go knowing all the country is with you!
Heather
Team NZ is gong to win this cup!
Diane and Gavin Fortune
The NZL-60 Red Socks are proudly on display in my car! You are all brilliant so keep giving the Alinghi team heaps - remember Goliath?? Today's race was exceptional and well worth waiting up for.The Bucklands Beach Yacht Club had approximately 120 people down there in the early hours of Sunday morning and that number will climb. Everyone is extremely proud of you all.
Grant (Wellington)
As Elvis said, Viva Las Vegas! Top effort guys, keep it up, you're doing us all proud, keeping my 80+ year old parents up all night drinking rum in their tea. Productivity is way down at work, but morale is great!
Liam (Cambridge)
What a race. Congratulations on a well earned win. You're doing us all proud. Have really enjoyed following the teams progress & look forward to seeing you pouring on the pressure. Bring it Home!
Greg Casey
Turn their faces red & sock it to them.Go you beauties. Makes us proud to be Kiwis .
Rik (Auckland)
Isnt it refreshing and funny to hear Brad Butterworth moaning about everything from the weather to the spectators. Just a little observation Brad - Both teams are competing on and in the same conditions. Try letting your actions do the talking and stop running your mouth off. Go ETNZ!
Alma (Auckland)
A fantastic win --- yes very exciting for this non sailor! Tried staying up to watch last night will definitely be watching race 4. Go KIWIS Kia Kaha
