For the past two nights I have stayed up until 3am watching the America's Cup and it has so been worth it. Especially yesterday's win. I think it was a great win but commentator Russell Coutts made a good point. A strong team like Alingi will not make mistakes like that every race. So in a sense it would be 2-0 down. I think you guys really need to get better starts and make sure you make the choice on which side you will start on. If you do this you guys can win the next race and take the lead in the series. The left has been stronger at the beginnings of the races but it could change in the next race. Once again, that race was worth staying up for and please win the next race for New Zealand.
Thanks Grant Dalton and Dean Barker for helping New Zealand to get this far in the competition.
Kirsten
Go NZ. Best sailors in the world are there, on both boats. Even Ernesto has to admit this as the majority are Kiwis on his boat. Dean and team you are doing a fantastic job. Show them what you are made of. We are supporting you all here and wish you all the best to bring our cup home where it belongs.
Steve (Auckland)
Well done Team New Zealand! Course well read, well sailed, great finish! Kia kaha and God speed.
Dawn & Don (Palmerston North)
We were so thrilled to learn of your win. Keep up the good stuff, as we all know you can do it. Of course you can because you have the best boat, and the best guys on it. We will be watching with great interest the rest of the races. Good luck to you all!
Jenny (Sydney)
This is your time to show the sailing world what NZ is all about.
Jenny Armstrong - 2000 sailing gold medallist

Go Team New Zealand. Bring home the Cup.

Wishing all of TNZ the most very best. We will be watching it from Xin Hui in Southern China on virtual spectator as unfortunately cannot get Sky. Still, not a problem at least we have this. It is absolutely fantastic to be in the position you are. Makes one feel so proud to be a kiwi. We met some of you guys last year in Sardinia when we were there on a boat for the Rolex Cup. Our daughter Clare works on Velsheda. Again, go for it. Again, good luck, we will be thinking of you all.
Chris and Anna Hancock

Team NZ. You make us proud! Go get them!
Kolinir
All the best Team New Zealand, Let's bring the Cup back to NZ!
Goddy (Auckland)
Take the wind out of Alinghi, upwind or downwind, light or heavy. Fantastic effort.
Kiwi/Samoan (Melbourne)
My wife and I are so proud of the the team. We get no coverage of the race so we go the net and get the results from the Herald online. We are off to the MCG on Saturday to see the All Blacks but are on a knife edge following this great campaign by Dean and the crew. Go New Zealand.
Merle and Dave (Rotorua)
Good luck guys. We are with you all the way.
Sky Walker (Hamilton)
May the force be with you. Your generation is a winner. Come out from the dark side. Feel the force. Use the force. Fulfil your quest. Win the cup. My force is with you.

Got to hand it to the Swiss. They sure know how to sail. I'm sure in Zurich, they already have the parade route mapped out.
Stephen Buckland
You can beat them TNZ. What joy it would be to see Alinghi's masters in catch-up mode for once, if not for 5 times.
BJ (Auckland)
Go hard or go home boys. I know you'll bring it home so go even harder! Good luck.
Baggycat (Northland)
Enjoy in the pleasure as a team that you made it this far. Yes, they have won the first race but this can only make you stronger at heart. We are all with you whether you win this cup or not, just remember we are proud to be by your side in spirit. Remember the song blowing in the wind? The answer is blowing in the wind. Go guys and gals. We love you all. Arohanui.
Skipper, Ex-RNZNVR Melbourne)
Just win the cup back, and God Bless New Zealand.
New Zealander in Germany
Yesterday the best team lost to technology. There is going to be an element of luck in it, your strength is your ability to be a better team. Don't let their technology get the better of the best team. Regardless of what happens, New Zealand is still the strongest country in the America's Cup. You just have to look at the sailors and who Alinghi runs too when they need to win. Grant has done a fantastic job of putting this team back together, and what a team. We saw how good you are yesterday. The more Alinghi crows about their technology the more we can see how good ETNZ is.
Dean, the start was perfect! Do it again, ram home who the best team is regardless of what else happens out there. Don't question yourself, we all saw it, we all know you are better. It is about winning, but without the possibility of losing you wouldn't be there. Give 100 per cent, then find some more. There are some in Europe who don't think the cup should stay here.
Swiss/Kiwi in Colorado
Yep, great stuff from ETNZ you show what great sailors you are by beating a boat that is half a generation ahead. May the winds prevail in your favour and hopefully you can wrestle the Cup of the "Swiss". Whatever happens you are great. Fantastic spectacle!
Yelkenci (Istanbul)
I wish ETNZ to take back the cup. Good luck guys. I know you can do it.
Lisa Ahlqvist
The kind of great sailing Team NZ showed in the 2nd AmCup race to come from behind to win decisively shows that Dean Barker and Grant Dalton are nothing but world class. All the stuff about Alinghi is/was a super rocket Dean and Grant has proved is simply a load of rubbish. If Team NZ keeps on sailing like today no team on Earth can beat them. Good luck Team NZ.
Kiwi fe (London)
Go team NZ! Bring the cup back to where she belongs!
Kristin (Whitianga)
You guys are awesome! I have been watching every race, and you make us so proud! We love you! You are the best, better than all the rest!
Chris Nathan (Brisbane)
My wife Faith and I have decided to fly up to Spain next week to show our support. All the team from Olivado NZ send best wishes and good luck.
Annie (Mt Wellington)
Give it heaps Team NZ - Geoff!
All the best, take it past the finish line first - Annie!
Garth (Auckland)
Hi there. It would seem that Alinghi has the edge as far as speed goes. I have watched the performance of this boat with much interest and take my hat off to the designers. However, Team NZ has one weapon that must be used in the upcoming races and that is to be absolutely dominant at the start and once ahead, don't give them an inch because they will take a boat length. I know that Dean and the tacticians are more than capable of beating their Alinghi counterparts, but it is time to take off the gloves and be more aggressive and don't take any prisoners. We have all the confidence in Team NZ so get stuck in boys.
Shark
Go Team NZ! We support you all the way. We know you can do it!
Higgs family (Auckland)
Good Luck Team NZ we are cheering for you from cold and wet Oratia. We know you can do it.
Loretta in Nassau
Actions speak louder than words, so I will keep this simple. Show us some action, good luck and good wishes. Now is the time, for us to say goodbye to Alinghi as you sail away from them in full honour, to cross that line first L.
Matto in Freemantle
Go for it Team NZ, although I wont see any of the races, my thoughts and best wishes are with you. Would love to see the cup back in 'lil ol NZ', If anyone can a Kiwi can. Give em a taste.
Jackie SydneyTo Grant Dalton, Dean Barker and all of the Kiwis in our team: I wish you every success and hope that you return the cup to Auckland and the challenge to Haruaki Gulf. May you find the wind beneath your wings. Good luck.
Lionel (Swiss sailor)
Hi guys, I'm from Switzerland but I went to NZ for a few months. I support ETNZ because I can't imagine again the America's Cup outside of Kiwiland and Auckland the city of sails. I wish all the best for Dean Barker and his Team. God bless NZ.
Lisa & Andy - Switzerland
You boys really are the best sailors in the world...go out and show them all!! We would really love to shut up our work mates over here. May the wind be with you.
Fletch from DublinWell done so far you have filled us all with so much pride already bring it home for us all. I hope you enjoy it as much as we will.
HK Kiwis
We're far from home but not as far as you guys are. All we ask is that you do Godzone proud - win or lose. Winning will be better though.
Wilson Family (Tauranga)
Go Team New Zealand. You are our heros and we are with you in spirit ALL THE WAY. May the Force of the wind be with you!
Lucky, Robyn & Tarns MelbourneBe cool men and just go out there and do it. You didn't go all the way over there for nothing - especially to start from scratch and get to where you are now you guys have worked very very hard. Grant, Dean and crew and all those people connected to team new zealand we are all proud of you and good luck. Ka mate! Ka mate!
Ron & Family & Staff
Hi Guys! I wish we could be over in Spain with you all but someone has to keep NZ afloat. Our thoughts and hopes are with you all and may the best team win. Also Hi to Neil and the family from Pauline and the Busting With Life Dragons. Keep on doing what you set out to do and bring home the old Mug.
Elizabeth
Well done for winning the Louis Vuitton. Keep up the good work. I don't know much about sailing but I think you will win the Americas Cup.
Max
Well Done Team NZ. You gave Luna Rossa a spanking in those 5 sails. Congratulations Dean Barker. Good luck sailing against Alinghi.
George
I hope you bring the America's Cup back to NZ. I believe in you guys.
Manin Montoursville Pennsylvania USAI just want to say that the cup team has a good ambassador in Sue Kellett of Auckland. She has made me a loyal fan of your team even though I have never been in New Zealand except on the internet. I wish you the very best in bringing the cup home to New Zealand.
Sniff from Perth
All us Kiwi's in Western Australia hope that Team New Zealand win and beat the living daylights out of those traitors who are on the Alinghi boat and call themselves Kiwis. We will get our revenge on those who chose to undermine New Zealand eg Brad Butterworth, Russell Coutts (even though he is no longer with them) and others.
Whites from wintery Wanganui
We both wish Team New Zealand the very best for a 5-zip win. We will certainly be watching no matter how low the eyelids go. Good luck you deserve it.
Richard (Auckland)
Grant and Dean and the crew: Go the Black Boat. You have got so far, and put the past behind, but there is still more to go. There will be lots of Kiwis losing sleep this weekend and our nerves can only take so much. So forget this winning by just enough business - if you can smoke'em, smoke'em. I want to see that trophy back in the case at Westhaven and the kids on the beach at Algies saying there goes the winner of the America's Cup.
Tony Stewart
Go Team NZ. Bring the Cup back to the best sailing nation on the planet. It would be great for the country to run it again.
Smithy (Los Angeles)
Grant, Dean and Team NZ. Good luck, and let's bring the Cup back to NZ. I am flying back home for the Tri-Nations test against Australia in July and would love to see the Cup on my visit. Sails up and let's do what Kiwis do - the unthinkable and win again.
PJ
Go the Kiwis I wish you all the best and good luck at bringing home the Cup.
Kiwi Kim (Los Angeles)
Go Team New Zealand! Afterguard, keep the nerves down and your field of vision wide, to keep an eye on any fake tacks Butterball(sic) may throw your way. Grant, remind any religious team members whether they be Pagan or any Religion, to pray before the series starts, that calms the spirit and releases the energy to do God's work. The wind is decreasing over the next few days, the Wind Gods are with Team New Zealand. You Will Win!
Kiwi (Golden, Colorado, USA)
Team New Zealand - its time to go out and do the business. Hopefully that stoic, quiet, confident air hides something special. We hope so. May the winds blow kind and sunlight (and luck) 'dance across thy pathway'. Chris, Susan, Kathryn and Emmy
Phil Westerkamp
Go you good things, bring the Auld Mug home!
Noosa Kiwi
We watched the win in San Diego - and I'm sad to say, the loss in Auckland! This time everyone knows the boat and crew are up to it, so we will be watching closely and hoping for a good win - maybe not a whitewash, but that's okay. Good luck to the whole team and may the wind fill your sails.
