Twenty-two jobs are due to go at Carter Holt Harvey's Kinleith Mill by the end of the month.
CHH will halt dry-mill operations at Kinleith Planer Mill, and reduce to one shift at Kinleith Kilns which will operate with three employees, the Waikato Times reported.
CHH told workers on Wednesday that they had four weeks left on the job.
The company will relocate some production to its sawmill in Putaruru, and other CHH-owned companies in Tokoroa, Whangarei and Dargaville.
In May, CHH announced the closure of the Kopu sawmill near Thames in the Coromandel with the loss of around 140 jobs.
CHH was not immediately available for comment.
