The man charged with murdering two teenage girls by running them down in his car outside a Christchurch party is now facing a raft of new charges.
Former representative boxer Lipine Sila, 22, reappeared in the Christchurch District Court yesterday on more charges in relation to other young people injured on Edgeware Rd in Christchurch on May 6.
He was already charged with the murder of Jane Young, 16, and Hannah Rossiter, 16, and driving with excess breath alcohol. The new charges relate to other partygoers injured when Sila allegedly drove into them, including Ben Devine and Felicity Tewnion, who ended up in comas.
Sila now also faces six charges of attempted murder, or alternatively wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and two additional charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He will reappear in court on June 21.
