The unemployed Martinborough man accused of assaulting volunteer firefighter Peter Fisher had more charges laid against him in Masterton District Court on Monday.
Milton Haira, 25, faced an original holding charge of assault, which has been upgraded to one charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Four other charges of common assault were laid against him and one charge of threatening to kill, all in relation to the same incident.
His lawyer, Louise Elder, did not apply for bail and Haira was remanded in custody until December 3.
