There are further changes in Labour leader David Shearer's office after his chief of staff Alastair Cameron resigned to be replaced by his former chief press secretary Francesca Mold.
The change is effective immediately, Labour confirmed.
Ms Mold was Mr Shearer's chief press secretary until a few months ago, when she quit to move to Auckland because her partner had a new job. It is understood Mr Shearer has been hunting for a new political advisor to work with him for a few months.
Mr Cameron is understood to be overseas on private travel at the moment, but a spokesman for Mr Shearer said he had resigned of his own volition and there was no acrimony.
Mr Cameron was a friend of Labour's deputy leader Grant Robertson and was appointed in April 2012 after former MP Stuart Nash left the role to return to Napier.
