Police have arrested two more people in connection with an alleged Auckland local body elections voting scam, bringing the total arrested so far to five.
Daljit Singh, a ward candidate in Auckland's local body elections, was last week charged, along with another man who has name suppression, with election fraud after allegedly forging change of address forms involving hundreds of voters in south Auckland.
A third man, a 48-year-old who also has interim name suppression, was on Tuesday charged with using a forged document and knowingly making a fake declaration and is due to appear in the Manukau District Court today.
Head of the police inquiry, Detective Inspector Mark Gutry, told NZPA today that two further arrests had been made this week.
Further details were expected later today.
