A Far North mayoral candidate says staff morale at the district council is at a 15-year low with job cuts and stopwatches being used to monitor worker performance.
Councillor and mayoral candidate Laurie Byers said this came after a year of restructuring in which 40 jobs were lost.
But Mayor Wayne Brown said the claims were a political beat-up and council staff morale had never been better.
