A farmer selling off his land for a housing development wants to call the street Cash Cow Rd. And approval seems likely.
The road is being created as the result of a farmland subdivision near Warkworth. The farm's owner, Glen Ashton, came up with the unusual name.
Rodney Local Board is expected to sign off the moniker when it meets tomorrow. Council documents say local government has no beef with the idea and recommends the local board approve the new road name.
"The proposed road name for the new road is Cash Cow Rd to be associated with the current owner (Cash Cow Limited) who has owned and farmed the land for the last 15 years," the council agenda states.
"The LINZ [Land Information New Zealand] database has been examined and the chosen names are unused and unique."
