Monster book fair this Friday

Stay warm under the covers this winter with a book from the annual Mid Winter Monster Book Fair in Martinborough.

In time for the longest night of the year, the First Church's three-day book fair starts on Friday at the Martinborough Town Hall.

There will be a special opening at 7pm with Jared Gulian, olive farmer, blogger and author of Moon over Martinborough, as guest speaker.

Tickets cost $15 and include supper and first pick of the books.

Entry is free on Saturday, 10am-4pm and Sunday, 10am-2pm.

All proceeds will go towards the upkeep of the First Church, Martinborough.

The next weekend, Mr Gulian will also speak at the Olive Harvest Festival, a showcase of Martinborough olive oil producers. Tickets cost $120 and include a three-course olive-themed lunch, activities, talks and tastings.

However, there is night market for all from 4-8pm on Saturday, June 28. And for a gold coin, anyone can go to the talks on Sunday.

The market will have more than 60 stalls, including hot food and drinks, creative crafts and gifts.
