Last week, we reported the story of Jaden Movold, a young Kiwi who is always first to come to the aid of others who need help.
He's always the first on the street with a collection bucket to help raise money for the Starship Foundation, StarJam and Riding for the Disabled.
The difference is, Jaden is 8 years old, has spina bifida and has endured 18 major surgeries to straighten his spine. The ordeal has not stopped the Huapai District School pupil from competing in triathlons. Now Jaden needs help: a motor, worth about $8000, to power his wheelchair. And our readers have stepped up to the challenge.
Jaden's mother Lise Baldwin says: "The immediate response to the story raised $600, with one person donating $250."
