Marine mammal pathologists are trying to determine the cause of death of dolphin Moko.
New Zealand's most popular dolphin was just 4, a teenager in human terms, when he was found dead on Matakana Island, near Mt Maunganui, this week.
Marine mammal pathologist Wendi Roe said while it was hoped to find the cause of death this weekend, they may face disappointment due to the badly decomposed state of the corpse.
