Auckland model Robin Reynolds has found worldwide fame and fortune after selling the story of a two-day romp with pop star Robbie Williams.
Britain's Sunday tabloid newspaper News of the World yesterday splashed Ms Reynolds' kiss-and-tell encounter with the British idol in Auckland's exclusive Metropolis hotel and apartment complex.
The 27-year-old blonde was pictured topless in the feature article, which she confirmed yesterday she had been paid for.
In the story she revealed how Williams charmed her in a bar of the five-star hotel where he stayed after jetting into Auckland last Tuesday.
Ms Reynolds, who lives in the high-rise, told how the pair spent the early hours of Wednesday together in his hotel suite and had exhausting trysts during the day and night, and on Thursday.
"We hardly had time for food," she said. "At one point I was so hungry I grabbed one of his plums.
"He didn't have more than three hours' sleep in three days."
Ms Reynolds, who the paper described as a "rampant Maori" because one of her ancestors was a prominent chief who signed the Treaty of Waitangi, was bowled over by the attention yesterday.
Contacted by the Herald, she asked if the newspaper paid for stories.
Told no, she said she probably would not want to be interviewed, and was in negotiations with New Zealand women's magazines to sell her tale.
Ms Reynolds said a News of the World representative following the Williams visit approached her about her encounter and offered a "certain amount of money," which she would not disclose. She had received a huge number of calls from friends and the media.
Ms Reynolds has recently moved her modelling agency from Hamilton, and has appeared in magazines, television advertisements and posters.
She told the News of the World Williams had said he did not mind telling people about the fling "as long as I said nice things."
Journalist Stephen d'Antal said he sought out the woman himself but would not reveal how much she had been paid other than to say it was "a fair sum."
