Mobility scooter-user killed in collision with car

An elderly man died yesterday when the mobility scooter he was riding was hit by a car in Hamilton.

William Leslie Harris, 88, died when he was hit by a car on Knighton Rd, in the suburb of Hillcrest, at about 8.30am, police said.

Mr Harris was riding a mobility scooter across Knighton Rd when he was hit by a car coming out of a nearby roundabout.

Mr Harris died in hospital after suffering multiple injuries.

Police want to talk to anyone who saw the accident.
